Wassily Kandinsky (Junge Kunst) (German Edition) Details
German text:He became the forerunner of abstract art, was a co-founder of the Blauer Reiter, an art theorist and influential teacher at the Bauhaus. When Wassily Kandinsky abandoned his promising career as a lawyer in favor of painting at the age of 30, no one could have guessed that a few years later he would help decisively to determine and revolutionize twentieth-century art.
Reviews
The book is not too big and not too small, it is just right. I am a Kandinsky fan and found this book very arresting. 127 pages and all work is in color and many full page. The book is basically split up into his different stages and places. This book also includes other artist's work (in color) and has a nice section about his student/girlfriend Gabriele Munter, who I am also a huge fan. The author speaks of the Blaue Rider period and his first school, the Phalanx school.....a who's who of students and shows some of their work as well. There is also a connection to the Bauhaus School. Also a few black and white photos of he and his colleagues , he was always the most dapper and had many pictures taken of himself. He did come from a wealthy family. Includes famous works as "Moscow1"". "Clash of Ideologies", "Several in Circles " and " Colors and Forms Interacting" among many others. It is a quick read that you will look over and over again. The colors are spot on.
